The Following article is my response to the Interim Report put out by the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) for the Assembly in Perth in 1997.
Currently within the UCA this debate is called Sexuality and Leadership. The Interim report is now superceded but the debate is principally aimed at removing any grounds for objection to gay ordination. Following the 2003 and 2006 Assemblies, the situation in the UCA is that sexuality may not be used as a ground to refuse ordination.
In my opinion, the Interim Report expresses well the kinds of arguments used to support gay (or any other) ordination.
